LA PRINCIPESSA DI GHIACCIO - CAMILLA LACKBERG

Poco tempo fa ho avuto il piacere di incontrare Camilla Lackberg, l’autrice scandinava che ormai è stata identificata come la regina del thriller europeo. Inizialmente solo mia madre era una fan entusiasta della scrittrice, ma dopo la lettura del suo primo libro lo sono diventata anche io. La principessa di ghiaccio è il giallo che più ho adorato nella mia esperienza di lettrice. Questo è un romanzo travolgente e , pur avendo un volume non proprio ridotto, lo si legge più velocemente di quanto possiate immaginare. Ogni personaggio della storia sembra essere il protagonista della vicenda, perché l'autrice riesce a dare voce ad ognuno in modo particolare e singolo, con questo voglio dire che le figure riescono ad uscire realmente dalla pagina e si pongono davanti a voi come individui in carne ed ossa. In realtà, però, sappiamo che i protagonisti sono due, ossia Erica una scrittrice annoiata che viene risvegliata dall'indagine in cui è coinvolta per aver trovato il corpo della vittima e poi Patrik, un poliziotto onesto e dalle grandi capacità, che fino a quel momento aveva solo svolto mansioni tipiche per una piccola cittadina come Fjallbacka. Un altro aspetto da sottolineare sono le emozioni che suscita questa scrittura. Infatti, nell'intero corso della storia, vi troverete nel bel mezzo di un turbinio di sensazioni: sentirete la paura e il vostro cuore inizierà a battere più forte, sentirete la tristezza tanto che a volte vi verrà da commuovervi e sentirete la rabbia per alcune ingiustizie che verranno rivelate di pagina in pagina. Personalmente sono rimasta molto soddisfatta di questa lettura e la consiglio vivamente, soprattutto a coloro che solitamente non affrontano questo genere, ne rimarrete piacevolmente sorpresi!

Recently I had the chance to meet Camilla Lackberg, the Scandinavian author that by now is identified as the queen of European thriller. At first my mother was the only enthusiastic fan of the author, but after Ihad read her first book I became a fan too. The ice princess is the thriller that I appreciated the most in my experience as a reader. This is a passionate book and, even if it is not that short, it is a quik read. Every character inside the story appears to be the protagonist of the plot, because the author succeeded to give voice to everyone in a particular way; that being said I want to underline the fact that the characters are made so well that they seem to be able to get out of the page and stand right next to you like they were made of flesh and bones. In this novel, however, we know there are two main characters, Erica, a bored writer that gets thrilled by the investigations in which she is involved because she found the corpse of the victim. Then there is Patrik, a police agent that is honest and competent, that until then had conducted regular tasks in a little city called Fjallbacka. Another important perspective is the way the writing style causes such a various range of emotions in the reader. You can feel the fear getting your heart to beat faster, you can feel the sadness and get moved, you will be even annoyed by some injustices that will be revealed page after page. Personally I was really pleased by this book and I really recommend it, especially to people who don't usually read this kind of literary genre, you will be surprised!
