LA MIA FAMIGLIA E ALTRI ANIMALI - GERALD DURRELL

La mia famiglia e altri animali è il titolo più appropriato che si potesse immaginare, sebbene sembri assolutamente scontato. Gerald Durrell in quest'opera ci mette a disposizione la sua esperienza di ragazzo inglese trasferitosi nell'isola di Corfù. In questo luogo incantato la sua permanenza è dominata dalla passione per gli animali e dalla vita di tutti  giorni con la sua famiglia esuberante. Pagina per pagina verrete rapiti da una risata naturale, dato che l'autore ci mette a disposizione aneddoti divertenti e sfortune esilaranti che sono costretti a subire lui e la sua famiglia. L'aspetto meraviglioso di questo racconto è il fatto che sia assolutamente scorrevole, mai pedante e sostanzialmente genuino. Non vi ritroverete mai davanti a scene architettate per essere gradevoli, queste si manifestano con molta naturalezza. Tuttavia non è solo il resoconto di una vita lontano dalla propria patria, ma è anche una continua scoperta riguardante specie ed animali fino a quel momento sconosciute al protagonista e la maggior parte delle volte anche al lettore. Dunque l'ingrediente stupefacente di questa storia è l'apprendimento di Gerry che automaticamente diventa l'apprendimento di chi lo legge. Il continuo imparare del protagonista avviene non solo attraverso degli insegnamenti di alcuni precettori singolari nel loro genere, ma anche dall'isola stessa: i racconti dei contadini, le passeggiate tra i boschi, le nuotate nei laghetti e l'osservazione diretta a pancia in giù tra i fili d'erba. Un vero e proprio sogno ad occhi aperti. Sinceramente mi sono appassionata molto di più alle varie meraviglie della natura e credo che chi ami già in partenza questo mondo apprezzerà ancora di più questo libro. Quindi consiglio vivamente questa lettura e spero che possa darvi spensieratezza e riso come è stato concesso a me.

My family and other animals is the most suitable title that we ever could imagine, although it could be appears totally expected. Gerald Durrel in this work wants to share his experience as an english boy on the island of Corfù.In this enchanting place his permanence is dominated by his passion for animals and by his daily life with his exuberant family. Page by page you will be enraptured and find yourself laughing out loud because the author give us a lot of funny anecdotes and hilarious misfortunes that his family is forced to endured. The wonderful perspective of this tale is the fact that this is flowing, it is genuine and never pedantic. You never find before you situations that were be planned to be likable, these situations are naturally exposed. However this is not just a report of a life far from their own country, but is also an uninterrupted discovery of species and animals unknown until then to the protagonist and, the majority of the time, also to the reader. So the amazing ingredient of this book is the education of Gerry, that is automatically the education of the reader. The learning process of the protagonist takes place not only thanks to  the teaching of some singular instructors, but also the island itself: the tales of farmers, the walks in the forest, swimming in the lakes and the direct observation down in the  grass with the body flat on the ground. A true daydream. Sincerely I was most passionate  about the various wonders of nature and I believe that who loves nature  already will admired this book. So I strongly recommend reading  it  and I hope that it gives you the carefreeness and  laughter it gave me.
